Call for Candidates: Vacant Seats for Teachers Retirement, ETF Boards

The Teachers Retirement (TR) Board and ETF Board currently seek Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) members to fill three vacant seats:

If elected, the candidates’ terms take effect May 1, 2027.

The TR Board seat terms are for five years, while the ETF Board seat term is for four years.

The Department of Employee Trust Funds (ETF) strives to ensure the governing boards of the WRS represent all members. Women, persons of color, and disabled individuals are encouraged to apply.

About the Boards

The TR Board advises the ETF Board on retirement and other benefit matters involving public school, vocational, state, and university teachers.

It also acts on administrative rules, as well as authorizes or terminates teacher disability benefits and hears disability benefit appeals.

Meanwhile, the ETF Board sets policies for ETF and generally oversees the benefit programs of the WRS, except group insurance and deferred compensation which have separate governing boards.

Requirements and Submission

Interested candidates must complete and submit their nomination packets to ETF by October 16, 2026, at 4:30 p.m.
